Yesterday evening (Tuesday 9/30/25) at 21:09 the North Bangor Fire Company was dispatched to assist with a search for a missing juvenile from Upper Mount Bethel Township. Reports from citizens noted that the juvenile may have been seen in Bangor Borough which is where the primary search was conducted. The North Bangor Fire Company, spread out resources throughout the North Bangor area canvassing wooded areas, barns, sheds and fields. Initial searches of the area turned up negative and at approx. 00:45 command from Bangor Borough terminated searches for the evening. Wanting to be conclusive in our search, firefighters from North Bangor and PA Water Rescue continued to canvass the North Bangor area utilizing vehicle and foot patrols as well as utilizing thermal imaging drones. While searching a wooded area off of Ridge Rd. a group of local citizens who were also assisting in searching located the missing juvenile and called 911. Upon hearing this transmission over Northampton County’s Dispatch, we immediately deployed all resources to that area to render immediate aid. Our firefighters/EMT’s were able to assist the PA State Police in establishing care for the patient prior to arrival of paramedics from Suburban EMS who treated and transported the patient to a local hospital for evaluation.
